Who can apply for a Community Foundation Grant?
Any Sun City Oro Valley club.
The entities of the Sun City Oro Valley Association.
Not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organizations that:
work with a Sun City club on a project, or
have a significant number of Sun City residents volunteering with the organization.
How to apply for a grant
Please submit a written request covering all the points in the following checklist:
Identify the group making the request. Include the group's name, address, phone and email of the representative making the request.
Briefly describe the project under consideration – 25 words or less.
Outline the history and background that is relevant for consideration.
State how you think this request fits within the mission of the Foundation. (To enhance the quality of life for active adults in Sun City and surrounding areas by supporting health, cultural, recreational, educational and other charitable needs.)
Identify options that have been explored relating to the project and what assets you have available.
Be specific about what you are requesting – the exact dollar amount, what it will be used for and when it is needed.
If your request will affect the property, finances, or other interests of the Sun City Association, get approval from the Administration before submitting your request. In some cases, this could include the approval of Association committees and/or the town of Oro Valley.
State the number of Sun City residents involved in your club or the number of Sun City residents volunteering for your organization.
You will be contacted by a Foundation Board Member and asked to make a presentation to the Board at a monthly meeting.
Keep presentations brief and to the point – 10 minutes maximum. If you have them, handouts may be helpful. Be prepared to answer questions from Board Members.

If your grant is approved:
You will need to provide a follow-up report on the effect of the grant, including at least one photograph of the result.
